Programs and Language Requirements for Exchange Students
Students planning to take courses taught in Chinese
You must submit one of the documents below if you'll be taking a course taught in Chinese:
- Documents demonstrating Chinese proficiency equivalent to TOCFL Level 3 or New HSK Level 5 or Proof of Study (480 to 960 study hours of Mandarin in Taiwan or 960 to 1,920 study hours of Mandarin in another country. Students must have a vocabulary of 5,000 words.)
- MA Program in Translation and Interpretation Studies: proofs equivalent to CEFR C2
- Native Chinese speakers are exempt
Students planning to take courses taught in English
You must submit one of the documents below if you'll be taking a course taught in English:
- Documents demonstrating English proficiency equivalent to TOEIC 750 or TOEFL iBT 79 or TOEFL ITP 550 or IELTS 6.0
- MBA Program in International Management: TOEIC 750 or TOEFL iBT 79 or TOEFL ITP 550 or IELTS 6.0
- BA program, Dept. of English Language and Literature: TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.0
- MA Program, Dept. of English Language and Literature: TOEFL iBT 100 or IELTS 7.0
- MA Program in Translation and Interpretation Studies: proofs equivalent to CEFR C2
- Native English speakers are exempt
Students applying to programs at the College of Foreign Languages and Literatures
- An international language proficiency test for Japanese, French, German, Spanish or Italian
- Native speakers are exempt
